Born in Milan in 1999, Filippo Palacino skillfully manages to combine artistic expression with philosophical, sociological, and psychological research related to personal, as well as generational, emotionally-intense experiences.

Representative of the youth's anxiety that emerged forcefully in the post-pandemic period, within the time frame that goes from the beginning of the pandemic to the present day he has interacted with, and analyzed, the mood of his peers in various cities across the Western world, including Milan, New York, Berlin, Zurich, Lisbon, Rome, Florence, Bolzano, London, Barcelona, and many more. This sociological process, which consists of several face-to-face interviews, is at the core of his artistic awareness.

My Meaning

"Through the words of Georges Braque: "Art is meant to disturb. Science reassures." You see, interpretations, even if based on great skills and long experience, will always sum up to a finite number, immeasurable compared to the Infinite that hides behind contemporary art. Here, my personal Infinite consists of the different perceptions I experienced during a year of my life when I deeply experienced my most turbulent emotions; I hereby show through something visible, all those invisible sensations I endured, and, more secretely, enjoyed.

The technique that lets me express at best these sensations is the one that sees a simple pen or marker morbidly trying to find a stable direction on a piece of paper, or canvas. This results in a single broken line, metaphorically traveling through different inner dimensions and colors."
